1 - The Brazil Venture Forum is an
event attended by entrepreneurs who have the opportunity of
presenting their business plans to venture capital investors.
The risk or venture capital is a kind of private investment
that buys a holding in companies that offer possibilities
of exponential growth. Investors participate directly in risks
and leverage of the business, also adding value through administrative
and commercial guidance. After the growth cycle of the company,
the investor withdraws his share in the business, selling
it to other investors or companies. Venture capital should

their business plans and train them to negotiate with investors.
The first step is to register in the website. Then there is
a pre-selection of companies that are invited to appear before
a jury consisting of FINEP specialists and investors. Next,
the company spends two months in preparation, when it will
be instructed by the FINEP team and specialist consultants
on the administrative, legal, marketing and financial aspects.
After this process, on the day of the event the companies
give a formal presentation to an audience including all active
venture capital investors in the Brazilian market.
3 - The following items are checked
in relation to the desired company profile for the Brazil
Venture Forum:
- Technology: the candidate company
must operate in areas such as information technology,
biotechnology, health, chemistry, energy, environment, machinery
and equipment, automation and correlated segments;
- Innovation: innovation is a determining factor, and also
an element to differentiate the company in the market, and
can be present in the process or product, or even in the commercial
strategy of the company;
- Products and production processes: they must show not only
a low technical risk level but also maximum proprietary characteristics
(know-how - efficiency - patents), in order to differentiate
them from the competition. Its edge may be based on cost,
workability, innovation or quality, permitting explicit competitive
benefits;
- Analysis of the market status and strategies: the market
in which the project is involved must have high growth rates
and be big enough to sustain the admission of a new company
with reasonable participation.
- Financial return: the profitability of the enterprise, as
a result of its investment prospects and forecast income,
is a determinant for recognizing a good investment opportunity.
It is also important to assess the opportunities for withdrawing
investment, that is, alternatives for the investor's withdrawal
from the company in the future.
4 - In relation to registering in
the website, we suggest special care with the following fields:
* Type of business - principal business, secondary activities,
in which niches the company operates and is outstanding, and
those in which it is most profitable;
* Goods and Services - you company's competitive edge, such
as it meets your customer requirements, future prospects,
innovations and projects in progress;
* Market and Competition - main direct and indirect competitors,
their strengths and weaknesses, and in which segments each
competes for the market with your company. Also analyze the
size, trends and prospects of your market;
* Investment Range - estimate the desired sum and where you
intend to allocate the investment
( Ex: working capital, R & D, machinery and equipment,
skilled labor, marketing, etc.)
